Blogger Recognition Award

I was recently nominated by Spence over at the mindberg for the Blogger Recognition Award! So many thank yous to you! I can’t believe it! Please take the time to go over to his site and show him some love. He’s got some really great content and is a great person! You can find him by clicking me.

Now, there are a few rules associated with this award and they are as follows:

  1. Thank the blogger for nominating you and give the link to their blog.
Again, thank you to Spence at themindberg. I’m honored to be included in your nominations.
  2. Write a blog post on your site displaying the award that describes why you started your blog
  3. Write two pieces of advice you have for new bloggers
  4. Nominate and notify 15 more bloggers

Before we get into all of that, let’s talk about what the award is. The Blogger Recognition Award is an award given to bloggers by other bloggers. It’s a way to recognize and show support to others for all the hard work that they put into their blogs.

Why I Started My Blog

I started my blog in November of 2018, however I didn’t really become active until February of this year.

My daughter was born in August 2018. I was employed at the time and after a short time of juggling working (I worked a call center from home) and taking care of her, I decided to stop working to take care of her full time. I took about a week of just enjoying my baby and I decided to pursue something that would allow me to take care of my family, allow me to create my own schedule, and potentially make money.

I’ve always loved writing. I have so much I want to share with the world. I also realized how much of an asset a blog can be. I literally devoured blog posts about parenting while I was pregnant. However, I also noticed there were things that weren’t covered in the posts that I found. I (eventually) had that “a-ha” moment where I realized that I could put out information for other people.

I’m so thankful that I’m able to reach others with the content that I put out. It honestly amazes me anytime someone comments, likes, or interacts with my blog in any way. I’ve finally found something that I truly enjoy doing and I can’t thank all of you enough for going on this journey with me.

Some Advice

Interact with Others

First of all, most of the people you meet are really great. Honestly, I haven’t met a single blogger that I haven’t genuinely liked. They’re all so supportive and are welcoming. On top of that, they’re all smart and have something special to add into your lives. Interact with these beautiful people because your life will benefit from it.

Second, the more love you give, you will receive. Take the time to comment and interact with other blogs. Don’t go and leave comments with the expectation that they now have to comment on your posts though. Interact because you truly like what the others are doing.

Schedule

Figure out a posting schedule for you. You can post content as much or as little as you want. It’s all up to you. However, buy yourself a planner, a notebook, calendar, put it in your phone, get a piece of paper. It really doesn’t matter what you put it on, as long as you have it ready to go for the upcoming weeks.

You want to have a plan of what to write long before it’s time to post it. I generally plan out for the next month, however, you can do farther if you want. A month just happens to work best for me.

You just don’t want to be in a position where you need to put content out (like yesterday) and are struggling for ideas. Before I started planning and scheduling there would be days (sometimes a week or two) that I was just treading water. It feels like you’re starting over after setbacks like that.

Bonus Tip

Put out holiday content early. Do you have a holiday post you want to put out? Put it out a few weeks beforehand. (I suppose you could wait on anything “last minute *insert holiday related words here*) People are generally planning early for their celebrations. Get them while their searching for it. You can always keep promoting it up until the holiday.

My Nominees

Please check out all of my nominees’ websites as well! They are all truly a delight in their given writing field. They are listed in no particular order.

I would like to invite my nominees to participate, however, know that it is not required! So, please don’t feel like this is something that you have to do. I just want to show some recognition to you!

So, there you have it! Please be sure to check out all the nominees as well as my nominator! You won’t be disappointed.

(Did you know I was also nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award? How about you check out that post after you finish checking out everyone else? I have a whole different set of people you can check out over there. )

  1. A well deserving nominee if every I saw one 😀
Lovely to hear a little about you and your 2 precious ones (baby and blog).
Great tips! I especially need to sort my scheduling thang out- always getting caught out by ” oh it’s national thingy-bob day today……I wanted to write a related post for it, doh!!!” Never thought about holidays before- genius!
    Thanks,
    Spence 😁

  2. Congratulations! I was surprised of the mention and I appreciate it. I’m glad you are able to stay at home and be with your little one as much as possible. It’s more important than most of society realizes, I think. Also, no one can know and understand the work a mother does. But, I’ll say THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO. And for sharing it with us.
