Fast Food Challenge

My husband and I have a bad habit of just grabbing fast food when we’re hungry. All right, so it’s possible it’s mainly my bad habit. I let myself get hungry and then I’m too impatient to wait to make food, so we’re stuck getting fast food. I’m really trying to eat healthier (and save money) so I’m hoping to get out of that habit. So, this week I challenged myself to not have any fast food.

This week, I can proudly say I was successful. The difference between this week and last week (my no soda challenge) was that I told my husband my plan beforehand. It made it a lot harder to cheat my challenge when my husband was there to go, “I thought we weren’t eating out this week?”

You know what? It really wasn’t that bad. I’m not making crazy healthy meals, but I feel better than I would eating fast food. I also feel like I have more food in the house now. When we’re consistently eating out, we tend to not worry about groceries too much. So this week, I was put in a position where I actually had to buy groceries. I bought for the week, both to motivate me to not go out and because I’m not going to the grocery store everyday. It’s nice to be hungry and see food in the fridge when I go and look.

I’m glad this week was successful. I don’t think I’ll be keeping fast food out completely. I think going forward I will have a cheat day throughout the week where I can just order out. I also realized this week that if I really want to succeed at something to just tell my husband what I’m trying to do. He is my motivation when I want to take the easy way out.

Let me know what you think!

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you next time.

No Soda Challenge

All right Venturers, this week I challenged myself to not drink any soda!

I did awful. It honestly felt like I didn’t even give myself a challenge this week.

Now, I don’t drink that much soda to begin with, so that’s good. However, I would really like to eliminate it entirely. One positive I took from the week was the fact that I never had my own soda. I would only share my husband’s.

He was probably the reason that I really wanted to do this challenge. He drinks way too much soda in my opinion. He definitely doesn’t drink enough water. If I can eliminate soda from my diet, then maybe he’ll drink it a little bit less.

Either way, there wasn’t much success this week. So what did I learn? I’m going to start getting the mini cans of soda. They are so adorable and you still get that carbonated goodness. This week also made me realize that I should make some different lifestyle changes. I mainly have soda when I’m drinking a liquor. I’m a sucker for rum and coke. Point is, I should probably cut back on those.

I am a little bummed that I wasn’t able to do this challenge right this week. In the coming weeks I will definitely be working on buying the smaller cans of soda and see if that does any good.

Let me know what you think. Have you eliminated soda from your diet and if you’ve tried, how did it go?

Thank you for stopping by and I’ll see you next time!

Updates

April: A Look Ahead

All right Venturers, it’s a brand new month. So far in April I’ve already had an anniversary as well as my birthday. April is definitely one of my favorite months. Who doesn’t love their birthday months? Since it’s a new month, I decided to outline some goals and things I want to accomplish for the upcoming weeks.

Goals

  • Increase daily view count
  • Consistency! I don’t want to feel like I can take a day off, especially after really good days.
  • Quality! I want to increase my quality, both in types of posts and the actual writing.
  • Interaction! I want to increase the amount of time I spend interacting with other blogs and readers

To improve

  • I want to get in the habit of prewriting my posts again. March I got into a habit of writing and editing posts the day I wanted them out.
  • Interaction, yes it’s both a goal and an area to improve on. I have days where I’m hot and cold. So, even on days when I don’t really feel like it, I still need to interact. I love hearing from everyone! If I don’t make an effort, why should anyone else?

Fun Challenge

All right, so this isn’t really a goal for me. I don’t necessarily care if this gets completed, but it would be a bit of fun. I’ve noticed a lot of fun and cute baby photoshoots. So, this month, I’m going to try and do one myself. Little P loves getting her photo taken and it’s not like I’d be sad to have cute pictures of her. Plus, I think it would be fun to share my experiences and if it was worth it.

Thank you so much for joining me in another month! I have the month planned out and am hoping you all enjoy what I have in store for you.
If anyone has any ideas or want me to write about anything specific, please let me know! Happy April!
