My husband and I have a bad habit of just grabbing fast food when we’re hungry. All right, so it’s possible it’s mainly my bad habit. I let myself get hungry and then I’m too impatient to wait to make food, so we’re stuck getting fast food. I’m really trying to eat healthier (and save money) so I’m hoping to get out of that habit. So, this week I challenged myself to not have any fast food.
This week, I can proudly say I was successful. The difference between this week and last week (my no soda challenge) was that I told my husband my plan beforehand. It made it a lot harder to cheat my challenge when my husband was there to go, “I thought we weren’t eating out this week?”
You know what? It really wasn’t that bad. I’m not making crazy healthy meals, but I feel better than I would eating fast food. I also feel like I have more food in the house now. When we’re consistently eating out, we tend to not worry about groceries too much. So this week, I was put in a position where I actually had to buy groceries. I bought for the week, both to motivate me to not go out and because I’m not going to the grocery store everyday. It’s nice to be hungry and see food in the fridge when I go and look.
I’m glad this week was successful. I don’t think I’ll be keeping fast food out completely. I think going forward I will have a cheat day throughout the week where I can just order out. I also realized this week that if I really want to succeed at something to just tell my husband what I’m trying to do. He is my motivation when I want to take the easy way out.
Let me know what you think!
Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you next time.
